Night Sky Photography

Since I was a child I always loved the stars, growing up in a big city meant I could only really see them at the planetarium, so when we did school trips to the planetarium I always loved it!

As an adult I still love exploring and when I'm away from the city, I'm always looking up at the stars. Yes, sometimes we can see them with all the busy light pollution, but getting away from the city, to the dark skies, is amazing.

For fun, I've dabbled in night photography over the years, but only tried dark sky/astro photography a couple of times. This past weekend I helped coordinate a workshop with photographer Jack Fusco in collaboration with Sigma and Glazer's Camera.

The experience of being on one mountain top, with a view of Mount Rainier, the Milky Way, Big Dipper and millions of stars was amazing.
It’s an experience I would encourage everyone to do, for so many reasons…

Peace
Serenity
Calm

A sense of how tiny we are, even though the Earth is huge!
