A Journey Back to Color & Flow

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by creativity, my father a musician and phtoographer, and my mother an abstract painter. In those early years, I explored freely: painting, playing music, and capturing moments through the lens of a camera. Over time, photography became my primary way of seeing, a means of documenting everyday life, and the beauty of the world around me.

Yet, creativity has a way of circling back.

In 2022, I picked up a paintbrush again. What began as an experiment quickly became a new rhythm, a space to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the tactile joy of creating by hand. I was drawn mostly to watercolor: its translucence, unpredictability, and quiet strength. Each stroke of the became a meditation; a dialogue between control and surrender.

My paintings often reflect the landscapes that have captured with my cameras, from the deserts of the southwest to the expansive, wonder-filled night skies. These works are not just depictions of place, but emotional impressions: explorations of light, stillness, and imagination.

Painting has become a counterbalance and a companion to my photography; another way to study light, express mood, and translate experience into color and form.
